Video interview techniques with children

From Lifehacker, this question:

I am interested in videotaping quick interviews with all the children in my family every Christmas. After 5 or 10 years this would make a neat compilation that could be viewed on DVD or a web page.

What questions should I ask, and what guidelines should I follow to ensure the best possible interviews?

Film Street making film for very young filmmakers

The project, led by First Light, is designed to motivate children as young as six years old to build their understanding of film and film making through the use of online tools and real world activities.

The project enables collaboration between children, and encourages them to reach out into the community and harness filmmaking tools to communicate.

Using photostory in the classroom

If you haven’t come across Microsoft Photostory, then read on.

It is a very simple and free piece of software that takes your digital still pictures and allows you to have some movement, zooming in and out, as well as adding music or narration.

The end result is a video that can be viewed on Media Player

It truly is an excellent motivation and presentation tool

Stretton Handley Primary School, inspired by photographs they saw of winter scenes, used PhotoStory to create winter poems.
