Stop motion animator – with onion skinning

The stop motion animate is simple to use animation program.

The program allows the user to easily build stop motion animations by recalling single video frames.

It also allows the user to do something impossible to do with film: the user can play through all of the previously recorded frames been for taking the next – this is called onion skinning and allows the user to compare the current position with previous ones

Scratch is a new programming language that makes it easy to create your own interactive stories, animations, games, music, and art — and share your creations on the web.

Scratch is designed to help young people (ages 8 and up) develop 21st century learning skills.
As they create Scratch projects, young people learn important mathematical and computational ideas, while also gaining a deeper understanding of the process of design.

A new animation toy/tool has arrived on the internet waves from London-based, FluxTime Inc.


One can now log on to www.fluxtime.com, and create personalized animation clips, which can be sent from within the site’s internal mailing system to friends and family, posted in the FluxTime gallery, or entered in one of many of FluxTime’s many contests.

MonkeyJam free animation

What’s MonkeyJam?

MonkeyJam is a digital penciltest program. It is designed to let you capture images from a webcam, camcorder, or scanner and assemble them as separate frames of an animation.

You can also import images and sound files already on your computer. Although it is designed for pencil and paper, MonkeyJam can also be used for StopMotion animation and has several features just for that. Movies created in MonkeyJam can be exported as AVI files.

Film Street making film for very young filmmakers

Film Street

The project, led by First Light, is designed to motivate children as young as six years old to build their understanding of film and film making through the use of online tools and real world activities.

The project enables collaboration between children, and encourages them to reach out into the community and harness filmmaking tools to communicate.
